Who we are

Lightreel is provided by Ligthreel LLC ("we" or "us"). This policy covers our website, API, and MCP connectors. Contact us at [email protected] with privacy questions.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email, sign-in identifiers, organization details, and subscription status.
• Research information: questions, links, files, and other content you submit; research history, results, and source information returned by the service.
• Usage information: website interactions, device and browser information, IP addresses, cookies, API and connector activity, and error information.
• Billing and support information: subscription and payment records, plus information you send when contacting us. Payments are handled by our payment processor.

How we use and share information

We use information to sign you in, run research, save results, manage subscriptions and usage limits, provide support, maintain security, and understand how people use and find Lightreel.

We use service providers for hosting, sign-in, payments, research processing, analytics, advertising measurement, and affiliate referrals. Information is shared with these providers for those purposes.

When you use an MCP connector, your assistant sends Lightreel the tool inputs needed for the request, and Lightreel returns research results or account-related information needed for that request. Your assistant provider handles that information under its own policies. If you share a research link, people with access to that link may be able to view the shared content.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect rights, safety, or the security of the service.

Cookies and website tracking

We use cookies and browser storage for sign-in, preferences, usage analytics, advertising measurement, and affiliate referrals. You can manage cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Blocking them may affect sign-in or other features.

Retention and your choices

We keep account information and saved research history until you request deletion. Email [email protected] to request access, correction, or deletion. We may ask you to verify account ownership before carrying out a request.

Some billing, security, or legal records may need to be retained after a deletion request to meet legal obligations, prevent fraud, or resolve disputes. Information already shared with an assistant provider or other third party is subject to that provider’s retention practices.

You can disconnect Lightreel in your assistant’s settings and revoke API keys on the API / MCP page. Disconnecting a connector or revoking a key does not itself delete your Lightreel account or research history.
